Newbie with a 89 TGP

 I just aquired this new to me car with 109,000 miles I have 2 problems one is when I turn the ign switch the starter does not get any action but will start if I jump accross the solenoid terms. And the brake pump runs on and off constantly.

As for the starter, I think there is a relay for the starter in the fuse box. Switch it with another relay and try that out.

by the brake pump running constantly on and off, you mean like every time you hit the pedal or just sitting there? The acumulator is how the pump is able the make pressure, it just goes bad after while. Theres also a pressure switch to turn the pump on
