tgp spotted sort of
« on: August 26, 2010, 06:15:08 PM »
Spotted an black 90 tgp at the gas station.  It had se badges but had the tgp front end and louvers.  I had to ask the guy what it was.  Said it was a turbo but when he popped the hood there was a brandy new 3.1 minus the garrett.  How sad :icon_frown:.  Powermaster swapped for regular brakes as well.  Interior was all tgp.  The guy had no idea what he was drivin, he just knew the cluster said turbo.  Wanted a grand for it but what was IT anymore.  Good 2 c a tgp on the road still but......  Oh, the valence was in perfect condition but he would not sell me just that

If the garrett was gone, what was in it's place?

The air filter box was there.  The motor looked completely swapped for a standard 3.1, I'm guessing they just pulled the last motor out complete.  The plenum had no turbo writing, regular crossover, no intercooler or piping.  I see him drivin local so next time I will post the vin.
