Testing accumulator?

During an ebay search I came across a guy selling used accumulators and says he has a way of verifying them to be good. Anyone know how that is done?

He must have some sort of pressure testing rig to see if they're still holding close to their pre-charged pressure.

From what I have been gathering these things only last a few years new so I wouldn't bother unless you're in a pinch. I just bought one from gmpartsdirect.com on tues and it should be here sat for $175 shipped.

I called 3 dealers in Colorado Springs, 4 in Denver, they all told me it was a discontinued part.  Am planning on switching to vacuum brakes this summer.
2002 MINI Cooper S - Pully, intake, strut bars.
1997 GTP  - 3.8L Blown - Too many mods to list.
1996 GTP - 3.4 DOHC - Twin to my 1997.
1990 TSTE x 2 - 1-Awaiting Resto treatment / 1- DD

Our plan too with the 5 speed swap.

A failing PMIII and Austin, Texas drivers make for an anxiety filled trip just going up the street. LOL

at this time It most certainly is not discontinued. most dealers cannot look it up due to the age/obscure nature of the car, there is a current part number posted around here somewhere, my local chevy dealer can still get it in for me.

Now that I have driven vacuum and PMIII cars I can say I would never swap PMIII for the vacuum stuff. PMIII has superior stopping power over the vacuum brakes. It just takes a learning curve and sometimes a bit more money to fix right, but it is worth it to me. I'd rather spend the money then go through all the work to swap in an inferior braking system.

yeah my dealer wasa ble to pul it right up, had to get it from vintage parts however (VPI), $154 iirc.
