I am going to Powder coat my front valve cover chrome. I figure it would look better then that regular metal. it should be very shiney. It being a domestic i think i can pull off the "Chrome Valve Cover" look of the older muscle cars. Next i think i might do the upper intake plennum. Do the plennum in Silver. then the raised letters/blocks in chrome and the black area in gloss black. It should look very nice :). then do the charge piping in chrome.

I might change the colors... I have not decided on a color scheme yet. I want to keep it clean looking and very low key.. no bright colors for me :)

Well its back on and looks sweet! its Powdercoated Chrome. it really dresses up the engine bay allot. I have pics i need to bring to work and upload. I also cleaned around the head and put in a new Felpro gasket (its blue, kinda cool looking color). the only drawback i had was the waterpump gasket leaked after i put everything back together (reused the same gasket). It had leaked previously it looked like (coolend all over the area where the gasket was). I used some blue high temp RTV silicone.. seems to seal and do the trick.

Also i got some mandrel bends in stock so i will build a couple intakes and see how a couple of you like them.

they are supposed to give you a new wp gasket with the wP!!  i have used pure silicone before and it never leaked!?  who knows.  where are the pics man I am always looking for new ideas.  hmmmm  I was looking at the  aftermarket downpipe 2 1/2 to 3" from the 97GTP and it looks exactly like ours.  alll I would need to do its cut off the flanged end and weld it to our flex hose coming off the turbo.

*cough* *ripoff* *cough*

i doubt it will fit looking at them they are physically very different. not to mention the 3" won't fit w/o banging into things.

your intake and mine is exactly the same but mine points down and sucks cool air from the bottom.  there is a crossmember there so no way water is going to splash up there. valve covers look the same also but mine is buffed and sprayed with 500 degree ceramic clear coat.

wow shane, could that intake be any closer to the exhaust manifold? what do you think of a 93 lumi pushing the same boost as the tgp (well around 12psi max)? code is being worked out for the stock computer. PM if you're interested. Tim thought you might be willing to bend up some pipes.

I am going to jet coat the front manfold once the new X-over is built. That will reduce allmost all of the heat. Also w/ a Intercooled setup most of the time it is not a problem.

If you guys have not felt your upper charge pipe after driving for a while then that is Allot hotter then the intake temps. I am also jet coating the exhaust housing of my turbo and the upper charge pipe. That upper charge pipe is a large source of Heat soak. becuase its after the intercooler and right in front of the throttle body.

I did defin my A/C condenser this last weekend and that should definatly help. the front A/C Fins where smashed so flat and nasty. now it is a nice beautifull flow to the I/C  :D

As long as you add enough fuel to the mixture it should run fine. Also the efficentcy of the turbo is another thing that will be a big factor. the stock TGP turbo efficentcy probibly isn't that great up top. I am sure it has a nice midrange CFM. I would love to see a compressor map of the TGP turbo.
