Quote from: GPChiefalready looked into getting "fiero Store" headers, they will not fit our 3.1 (gen II) they fit the Gen I cast iorn heads.

How different were the Gen II heads from the Gen I heads? The GEN II heads were introduced in 1987, but I'm not sure if any of the fiero models got them in 87 or 88. I thought that the 88 GT/Formula Fieros used Gen II heads...but maybe they didn't.

At any rate, there is a place that makes custom Fiero headers, and if the heads aren't that much different, they could maybe modify a set.  :D

Funny thing is I had looked at the STOCK fiero headers (if they can be called headers) as a swap. Nope , They are too thin and they have the crappy LOG desighn.  I think Curtis(TurboZ24)had fiero store headers ,,,they had leak problems on the turbo engine. But they were mild steel and not stainless steel.

Seems like everywhere I look is eather swap to cast iron or get 3rd gen heads , but STEP AWAY FROM THE 2nd gen heads.

I talked to the company that makes performance Fiero headers, and they said that they won't work on our cars because of the EGR valve...and because the rear manifold on our engine is actually 2 pieces... :?  They didn't mention anything about the heads being a part of the problem.

Alright..I found out that the bolts on fiero heads/headers are 3/16" off compared to the GEN II heads. :D Those can be drilled out easily..or relocated. It's not that big of a difference. :D Next hurdle to clear is finding out if the flanges are the same size.   If they are..then the last hurdle is positioning them correctly..which will be difficult.
