Finally found some #8's... sorta

I called the local Advance Auto Parts today and asked for Rapidfire #8's, like I do everyweek. The guy says your in luck, I have ten of them. He said he set 6 aside for me. I get there and guess what? Some a**hole sold 8 of them and didn't put it in the computer. So he called another store and they had a ton of them. I'll have all 6 of them in the morning. (he gave me the 2 they had there) So hopefully I can get up soon enough tomorrow to put them in. (I work 3rd shift)

To anyone running rapidfire #8's, what do you have them gapped at? I'm guessing .035 or .040. I just want the best out of them.

I believe you leave them as they are pre-gapped.

But I believe they are gapped at .045, which is too much from what I've been reading.

check the rapidfire #8's before paying for them, if it is a small round tip don't buy them, they need to have serations around the electrode (looks like a torks bit, but with more lines!) :)

I did notice the small round tip. What is the difference?

The small round tip is the new platinum version of the rapidfire. The old version, which had many small ridges in a cone formation on the tip, did very well in the TGP's. HOwever, the small round tip besides being platinum, doesn't offer as many sharp edges for the spark to fire from. It was one of the unique things about the rapidfire, also how it was named. Now its just a platinum plug.
