Just took these out and found a p/n I can't trace, even with a call to the dealer. Say's not a good number.

The number is 17086981. Anybody know anything about it? Or where can I find the info.

Thanks

I believe the proper part number is 17086651 and your number is 17086981 (pretty close together). Is there anyway you could be mis reading it? If not then I can't tell you anything about it, except it shouldn't be in a TGP.

When all else fails, punch it.

Isn't that the number that is on top of the fuel injector. If it is its a TGP injector. I am looking at my injectors and that is the number ingraved on them....all 12 of them..(the ones on the junked TGP and the ones Chris sold me)
Turbocharged 88 IMSA Beretta GTX <-dam stright.
90 ASC/McLaren Black TGP.

Yes is't engraved it the black plastic around the top radius.

Which number are you refering to the correct one or the one I have(17086981)

I have had two other people read the number. Painted it yellow and then wiped the paint of, believe me it's 2020      17086981. I think the 2020 is the parts group. And its a real TGP motor number matches the vin# also.

All 6 are the same number.

Still trying to find out what this is.

It could be an old part numer or run number. I'm not really sure, but it DOES match other numbers we have for that injector.

However, "Part" numbers that are often on GM parts usually don't mean anything. Unlike ford parts that usually have a good number on them, GM parts usually have either a casting number which doesn't correlate to a good part number, or some ambiguous part number that was never actually in the parts system.

Yea ...the 17086981 are the numbers on my fuel injectors. The first four digits before those....on my original junk yard TGP ('90) they are 2020 like yours...on the ones Chris had are 8109 on 3 of them and the other 3 7289.  Doesn't make sence to me either. Prob nothing ...mybe a casting date or something.
