Is there a way to test the actuator mounted on the turbo? I put the car on my lift at home and ran it and noticed it doesn't kick in. The boost guage shows no boost also.. I rebuilt/replaced EVERYTHING under the hood this winter including sending the turbo assy to Turbochargers.com for rebuild. I tested the electrical actuator on the plenum awhile ago and it worked. I'll retest it this weekend. The exhaust/cat is new also (custom) The hard plastic lines are fine going from the turbo-to-solenoid and back to the wastegate actuator.
Any ideas? Thanks, Rob

Use a pressure source and a gauge in line. The actuator rod should move with 4.5 PSIG applied to the can.

Now I can hear the questions already...why does the actuator rod move at 4 PSIG?? Because it allows the ease in movement and reseating to be set at a lower PSIG. The wastegate solenoid controls the actual boost pressure...not the actuator... 8)

I checked the electrical solenoid and it clicks, so its ok. I then released the actuator rod from the wastegate (wastegate moves freely) and then blew air ( with my mouth using the small hard line attached) and it barely moved at all. If it's defective, where do you recommend I get a replacement. Thanks, Rob

You won't be able to put enough pressure on it with your mouth to properly check it.
