Well, I have had to add brake fluid to my car 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I decided to put the car up on the lift at work and take a look and I found that the entire undercarrige on the left side is covered in fluid.  Now here is my question. Is it possible that the fluid could leak from the accumulator and not the rear pm housing?

I know that I have needed an accumulator for a while I just haven't had the money to get one. I would be really great if I could just replace the accumulator to solve the problem and not have to pay Prior $650 for a whole new setup.

I'm not sure...I'm rather curious about knowing as well. I just found out a few days ago that the leak on the driver side of my car is coming from the PMIII, and not the PS pressure switch like I thought. I've got a whole PMIII unit coming that I got off ebay, but I was just wondering if I only needed to change my bad accumulator.

If you don't mind me asking how much did the PMIII go for?

It doesn't run anymore.

Not is highly unlikely that its leaking anywhere but the rear housing.

I had a rebuilt PMIII leak about a pint a week, until I found that it was leaking past the reservoir rubber seal.  Apparently presurizing and depresurizing during normal use and the movement of the car caused the fluid to 'sloosh' toward the back of the reservoir and leak down the back of the PMIII making it look like the body had a crack in it.  I cleaned the lid up and placed a small bead of RTV silicone along the edges of the lid and replaced the rubber membrane.  Hasn't leaked a drop since!

Hi   Was it overfilled. It should only be filled to the "stepped mark" on the inside of the resevoir.

PCarter

No, mine was filled properly.  Push brake pedal until no brakes (about 40 presses), wait until the air settles, then fill to mark! :)
