well after about 3 days working about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs my crossover is finally out.  No it wasn't easy because it was a play by ear removal.  The worst part I would say is removing the 2 bolts on the underside of the downpipe.  That was a pure MF to the tenth power   !  I did have a leak on the egr side of the crossover.  It is going into the shop to get the flex couplings welded on today.  i uploaded some of the pics

Saving skin on knuckles and not cussing: Priceless

Just kidding, had to say it.

Can be a real pain to get those bolts out.

1/2hr damn!  My car isn't standard TGP so I had to remove other stuff.  My oil and coolant lines were probably never removed in 14yrs so they were hell to break loose even when sprayed with WD the night before.  MY intercooler and intake are also not where the stockers were.  Huge battery had to be removed, gas line was in the way.  EGR flex hose screw was stubborn.   What did you use to remove the lower bolts?  I tried a socket with flex extension.  Most of my headache was fighting those damn NILE VIRUS MOSQUITO'S   !

Sometimes i get lucky with an air ratchet. Its an odd combination of ratchet, two different length extensions and a socket. I had to go a little slower the last time around because it had the factory heat blanket in pretty good condition, so it took some time to get that out. I also have some odd custom shaped wreches for the egr tube.

The one before that I did a xover/PMIII swap in 2 hours start to finish.

That's impressive!!!  I took out my first TGP x-over twice, and my new TGP once, and I think I could barely change the x-over in 2 hours.  None-the-less the powercrapperIII too.  8)

I would happy if I could find my tools and get the hood open in 1/2 hour.   I could prob remove mine in a half a day or so if I swetted alot.

After going through all the agony that Chris described and more I found that by taking the heat shield of the pm (2 10mm screws) and unbolting the turbo I could raise the turbo and down pipe up  3 to 4 inches which
made it pretty easy to get the bastard bolts. Might try it.

Oh about 40min for me..on the J.Y. TGP.. Mind being that it was the first time I ever saw and worked on a TGP.    But I could do that same time for a removal and install in the GTU.   Got to move...move, move , move...LOL.
