Will someone please explain something to me? OK the other day I was off work so I decided it was time to fix the PCV valve hose that I tore awhile back. I get everything apart and get the plenum off no problem. Put the new hose, pcv valve, plenum gaskets,TB gasket, and EGR gasket on. I also cleaned the EGR valve, and plenum out a little. (plugged with carbon) Since I recently ran TEC through it, the spark plugs also needed cleaned. I wanted to take them to work with me and clean them in the glassbead machine, so I had my buddy pick up a new set of Delco plugs for me. The delcos came gaped at .060 and I regapped them to .035, which is what my other plugs are gapped to. Well, I put everything together and the car seemed to misfiring on every cylinder. At first I thought maybe it had something to do with cleaning the egr valve so I left it until I got home from work the next morning. Still doing it. I pulled the Delcos and put my freshly cleaned accels back in. Runs like a top now! So my question is could I have got 6 bad plugs? Any other reason it would do this?

When I do plugs I do one at a time. As soon as the plug is in the wire goes on it. The on to the next. I even retraced the wires and they were all right. Actually I traced them 3 times.

About waskie, he can drive whatever he wants cause I know he still has a passion for the TGP. I'm just messing with him. As long as he's happy with his new car then good. At least he sold the TGP to someone who will care for it and not beat the slop out of it.

idbeast

Sounds to me like you got the wrong plugs, what did you get if you don't mind me asking... :drinking:

The plugs were R42LTS(6). The 6 meaning gapped at .060 out of the box. I regapped them to .035.
