I dropped a socket in when priming oil system.  Socket (small 5/16) went into hole for oil pump drive.  Will I be able to move this around with a magnet (moving it towards drain hole)?? the oil pressure eventually move it over towards the screen and end up just sitting there until I have the pan off next time?  Anybody have a photo or dig camera with an oil pan laying around??  I don't even know if it made it to the pan, I just put oil in the damn thing.  Help!!!!  Info????  TIA Dale.

If it went into the oil pump drive hole and you can still put the oil pump drive into the oil pump forget it. It's already in the pan   and won't hurt anything unles you turn the car/motor upside down. Not a good practice.

I would also search thae area around the cam gear with a magnit to make sure it went down the hole.

Always worried about that, thats why I tape the socket on.

To answer your quesion you will be OK it will drop into the oil pan and just
sit there, the oil pump can't pick it because of the pickup screen...   The socket is heavy enough the oil won't
throw it anywhere, plus the baffle will keep the oil from sloshing...
Sorry I couldn't do the flash, my step son borrowed my camera and didn't recharge the battery...

Thanks Jud, I bought my TGP in Houston (Johnson Space Center/Seabrook area) from Dave Yeung.  Nasa guy, he took good care of the car too.
