Quote from: god910Or you will launch like never before and break a differential.  Shattering the spider gear into MANY chunks.  And blow a whole in the side of your tranny the size of a mans head.

You mean that can happen to someone?   I'm not to worried, afterall I don't have a 282 like someone that had that problem.

The tranny in my car is quite strong, you have to remember the stock TGP trannies are built a little to handle the power, and I didn't have any problems pulling consistant 2.0 60's with the stock chip, its just that after I got the chip I was having a hard time not smoking the tires.  I am pretty sure the differentials aren't the weak spot in these trannies anyways, I am betting it is like the GTP's where the input/output shafts snap.  And if i break the tranny, oh well, I know a really good tranny guy that will build it up quite strong for cheap.  Eventually I will have problems with the tranny not being strong enough, but I feel that is in the lower 13 second range, not high 13's low 14's like I'm trying to run.

Figured I'd post my timeslip.  I can't wait to hit the track with the pulley now on.  I think with a better 60' time I'll be happy.  Hopefully I'll go on a nice cool dry night.  I also have a really dirty air filter, I wonder how much that will help to clean it.  Also have 1.6 rockers in the garage waiting for install, then after that I'm gonna delete the cat.  Finally I've had my bov for a few months if I get a chance to put that on that would be nice.  One more thing I almost forgot, poly mounts on the engine side.

Be sure to post your results next time you go, I've been thinking about getting back to the track w/ the TGP or in my other cars  ..instead of racing on the street.
