Hi,

I just replaced the radiator in my 89 TGP, but I must have blown a head gasket while I overheated it, antifreeze keeps getting low & bubbles/foam were in the overflow, what are the GM part # for head gaskets, ARP head bolt part #'s, I probably warped the heads, anything else I should know/do?!  How much should I be looking at for this job?!

Thanx

Did you bleed the air out of the system at the top of the thermostat housing?

don't assume the worst about your heads being warped, they are a lot stronger than people think.  gm part # for the gaskets is 10237149 I believe.  make sure you specify that you need 1 or 2.  I personnally would not use fel-pro due to a difference in the crushed thickness of their gasket,  some other people on here have had good luck with the fel-pro's but I had a failure after 4 days.  If some of your other top end gaskets have been sealed they will probably need to be replaced.  I believe fel pro has a top end kit that includes the valley pan, throttle body, egr, and some of the other various smaller stuyff that you will be removing.  Your looking at a mininum of a full day of work and if not familiar with all  of the stuff that has to come off before you get to the heads you might be looking at a week of agony.  Some say it is easier to pull the motor out but I've done a couple of these with the motor in the car in 2 days.  Good luck and be sure to bleed all the air out of the bleeder on top  of the thermostat housing or you might overheat very soon.  don't know the arp part #'s but I used GM head bolts 3 times for this and have had good luck with them.
reliving my youth searching for a TGP.
