**Update**

Rockers are in, and I dont have any solid HP gains to report due to some studdering issues (ignition) but I will report that it pulls harder, idles smoother and you can feel the differance in the top end.

Notes from my install

1. What a pain in the A$$, took me about 8 hrs off and on removing everything on the top end to get to the rockers.  It seems to be a worth while mod, but not like my L67 3.8 or a SBC - much harder to get to the rocker arms.

2. Dont try to torque to the service manual 35 LB tourque, use the old fashioned way adjusting the arms in accordance with directions from Comp cams web site.

3. Hand filed down the push rod guides, dont think that I needed to when checking clearance, I used the hardened pushrods from Comp Cams also.

4. When removong the TB I completly removed the coolant passage way from the bottom of the TB, freeing up some space since this was deleted on my car anyways.

Will not get to do any G-tech runs to verify gains, will be away from car sever months.

so i got those 3100 rockers that sit on like a stool with a notch sticking out of the bottom, like they fit in a notch on the 3100 head.

If i grind the notch off to be flush so the rocker sits flush on my head and remove my pushrod guides it seems like it could work,  using the 3100 pushrods ( cause they are shorter)         Has anybody else done that to their car?

when i mock fitted everything it seemed like it could work?
Can anyone help me with this, do they know what i'm talking about?

Ok, since some of you have done this already.

What would you suggest for someone that wants to do this but is on a budget? And anyone have step-by-step instructions on how to do this, what parts are needed, and where to get the parts?

Not really sure what you are talking about.  If you are talking about the pushrod guides.  I took a round file and lenghtened each opening so there would be no rubbing.  I then rotated the crank several times checking clearance.

Bringing this back up.  Did you use new bolts for the rockers?  And did you use any RTV on the valve cover gaskets?

Used the stock rocker arm bolts, IIRC they are not Torque To Yeild (TTY) bolts so they can be reused.

As a measure of safety I soaked the rockers with "assembly lube" before start up.

Used a "dab" of RTV to hold the rubber seal in the valve cover gasket slot, none on the heads.
