I'm going to New England Dragway this Saturday.  Can't wait  :)
http://www.newenglanddragway.com

Back in June, I pulled a 15.143@90.00 with a 2.352 60ft.  Goals for this time are definately 14.x and a lower 60ft time.  What I've done since then are UD pulley, poly mounts, cleaned air filter, new O2, bov (which isn't routed correctly now).  I might put a better hose instead of the flex one in the upper IC pipe to IC location.  Wanted to cut the cat but won't have a chance.

From reading past posts, here's what I'm going to try:

Launch @ 1800rpm
75% throttle through the 60ft
shift out of 2nd gear at 6000rpm
front tires 26psi, rears 40psi

Can I launch in "2" and just shift out at 6000, or should I launch in "1".  Does it matter.  Last time I left in drive.  I'm also going to take out the backseat, and spare & jack.  What else could I rip out for the day?

Any other suggestions are very welcome.  It's import wars so I want to be as fast as possible.

Yea...chop two doors off..   . But any way.. Another trick is not to shut the car off in the lanes altlest 5 min before you go. Ice the IC if you could in the pits before you go. Don't let adrenalen get the best of you..Chill...but focus. Don't do the watter box ..no matter what. Just ebrake and launch hard to clean your tires...no Jonhn Force burn out...just a good small burn out.  AND  never brake tq on the staging lanes more than 10sec. Watch your rpm on BTQ.....then look at the tree.

ICE
5min
Watterless burn
Chill focus
Brake Tq and look
GO!

Yes, definately launch the car in 2nd...you have too much else you should be concentrating on to shift it to 2nd yourself, and it should shift high enough itself.  Make sure you don't brake torque very long at all, or the computer will pull timing like mad.  Taking out the spare tire and jack might be worth it, but the backseat honestly weighs less than 20lbs...it will be barely noticable on a timeslip, since a tenth of a second is ~80-100lbs.

Finally went today and had a great time.  Saw and talked with the owners of 3 GN's and 1 TTA, and 2 97+ GTP's.  Lots of real fast cars there.  Only got four runs in:

15.131 @ 91.55 w/2.401 60ft

14.860 @ 92.25 w/2.317 60ft (best)

15.092 @ 91.44 w/2.384 60ft

14.932 @ 92.16 w/2.316 60ft

All runs were better than my previous PB, so I am happy.  Still gotta work on that 60ft though.  One difference I noticed from last time was the pull through second gear was a lot stronger.  Finally in the 14's   :)

Considering the only thing you really did power wise was an underdrive pulley, thats some good improvement.  Did you hold it in 2nd?  If so, did it seem to help.

Those times seem a lot more respectable considering what has been done with the car.  Now all you have to do is figure out how to launch it just a little better and it will go even faster!

Congrats!

Holy shit, a 14.86 @ 92 w/ a 2.3 60' is nuts.  You could easily take that to 14.5-14.6 IF you can keep the tires down.  What kind of shoes you running?

Front tires are 1 1/2 year old pep boys futura's I think.  Probably not the best.  Rear struts were dead too.  I replaced them since but don't notice that much difference in the launch.  I really do suck at launching, the tires break loose right at redline in 1st gear.  I held it in 2nd gear this time and I think it made a difference.  Like I said, the main difference this time is the pull I felt in 2nd gear was very strong.
