I did some searching for brake pad recommendations tonight, and came across this old post by Josh..

It got me thinking.. Has anyone else installed something like this on their TGP? If so, what were the results?
Does the MAP sensor detect the changes in manifold pressure? Is the MAP sensor responsible for telling the ECM to add more fuel when it sees boost? What does the wastegate solinoid control? Just the wastegate and the ECM boost cut? I'm just curious if anything will be affected by unhooking it.

I noticed the maker of the boostvalve had pictures of an install on a Buick GN, which looked to have a similar wastegate control as our cars do (ECM controlled).

I'm just brainstorming right now, thought something like that would be a cool, and cheap little mod to have some fun with. (Safe fun, I'm not gonna crank the boost up any past 12 PSI)

I had a manual boost control on my TGP that I robbed from my Daytona. I also had my Greddy Profec-B electronic controller on there for a while. I like the elcetronic MUCH better, but for low boost on this engine(below 12psi) It's not "too" bad. Right now I have the stock chip, stock boost, and stock exhaust back on to conserve this trans. I've had wuite a few probs with trannies in my car(on lucky 13, which is slipping now, and yes most of them were rebuilt and done by well known trans gurus near me).

I modified my stock boost controller for adjustable boost.  It worked insanely well on the stock chip.  The car pulled like mad.  If I would've run the car with the modified boost controller before the chip, I think it would've done 14.8's or maybe even better.  I have my boost turned up just slightly above what the topgun chip commands, but the big difference is spool up time.  My STE will light my brand new 225/60/16 Bridgestone Potenza G009's into smoke at any speed under 15-20mph.  If you brake torque to 2k from a standstill and let off the brake and mash your foot to the floor, you will honestly sit still for a second or so before the car starts moving.  However, I can definately tell how much timing is being pulled over about 12-12.5psi...the car just falls on its face.  Due to my cam and exhaust work, and pretty soon my new turbo (disco potato) I need to get some more computer work done, and hopefully run about 14psi and have the fuel tables and everything setup properly.  But its definately nice to not have the programmed turbo lag in the computer...although it doesn't help your launch any unless you have some really sticky tires.

i really like the grainger valve (aka boost valve) on my GTS, and i'm planning on using one on my TGP engine also.  i bought my g-valve for $25 from McMaster Carr.  the MAP sensor will still read whatever manifold pressure you are running and will prevent you from rasing the boost too much because you will hit boost/fuel cut if you adjust it too high.  i've done that a few times on my GTS and had to turn the valve back down 1/2 turn so i wouldn't hit fuel cut anymore.  i don't even have a boost gauge yet  i simply adjust it up until i hit fuel cut and then back it off.

although, you could always put a ziener diode off the MAP sensor so the ECM never sees a voltage equal to or greater than whatever BFC would be.  i definately wouldn't recommend doing that with a TGP engine unless you have supporting mods (like bigger turbo, lower compression, alcohol injection etc).

oh...i see Josh mentioned something about there being NO torque management with the boost valve, and i would have to say he's definately right about that.  the wastegate will be completely shut until a preset level, at which time it fully opens the wastegate.  it really helps the turbo spool up but spool up time isn't really an issue with TGPs anyway.  it's a rather crude boost controller but for me it works very well.  it's also very easy to adjust it or remove completely and simply put a vacuum line in it's place (for minimum boost) or i could just plug my wastegate solenoid back in for factory ECM wastegate control.  definately worth $25 IMO.
