Sorry for the poor title but i was aat a loss for a decent description

well on the 3.1 turbo....the Turbo is bolted to the Crossover and the downpipe bolts to the turbine end of the Turbo.....

both those locations are just metal on metal.......will that seal??

im wondering if any high temp sealant or something is needed to properly seal those locations...?

anythoughts?

thanks

Dave

It is just metal to metal, I have seen a after market gasket installed on one TGP but don't know who made it...

I just find that hard to believe that Metal to Metal will make a decent seal......

when i removed my turbo and downpipe...there looked like some kinda white sealant....

That's why the flanges MUST be flat.  A machine shop can handle the task if they are not.  GET THAT DAMN THING RUNNING!!!!!!  :D

There is definately no gasket.  However, when we got the turbo rebuilt on the TGP coupe, the rebuld company sent us a gasket for the inlet, so we put it on, but still no gasket for the downpipe.  You just have to make sure the metal is flat.
