Random engine hiccup at highway speed

My wife first told me that the TGP stalled and died on her one day while accelerating onto the interstate. She said that "it just died". She let it sit for 5 mins however and then it started, ran fine and she was on her way. I decided to drive it until it did it again so that I could get all the details.
Well fast forward 2 months and it finally did it to me. Weird. So here's what it does:
while under moderate acceleration, I notice that the engine has cut out. Revs are down, ignition doesn't seem to be happening. Speed:70mph. I take my foot off the gas. The engine seems to "come back". I poke the accelerator again. Car responds for a sec, then cuts out like before. Take my foot off - engine comes back to life. I carefully press on the accelerator and then notice that the boost gauge is responding 1:1 with my pressing on the pedal. Press hard, thing soars to +15 (until engine cuts out), lift and the thing immediately sinks to -15. Press a little, gauge jumps + a little. The boost never seemed to equalize or normalize under cruising conditions like its supposed to. If you're gassing it, even just a litttle, it's at least +8. The "service engine soon" light came on for the duration of the event. When the engine was cutting out, I was smelling gas and seeing whiffs of white vapor coming from the hood vent louvres BTW.

So I limp along and try not to keep the boost pegged. I stop to drop my daughter off. Come back out 10 mins later and, just like my wife's episode, the car started and ran fine. No problems.

I smell an electronic failure, but what?

Its hitting boost cut.  Why I don't know.  But the boost cut will cut all fuel and the motor just dies, until you let off the gas then it goes back to normal and the SES light will come on for like 10-15 seconds then go off.  

Why it is hitting the boost cut is what you have to figure out.  Make sure all the vacuum lines are properly connected to the turbo & boost controller.  Make sure the boost controller is properly plugged in.  And make sure there isn't something holding the wastegate open or something.

check and make sure both of the vacuum line are hooked up on the turbo.
