I have total 6 new Red TGP Emblems.  When I first got them I cleaned them and wiped off the finger oils (finger oil is acidic and will eat the gold coating) and packaged them with soft foam and stored them in a baggie with silica jell to take out moisture.  So they are not only the best GM had in stock back when they had these, they have been obsessively cared for since.  Retail was $85 each, I won't mark them up/make any money since that is a lot of money to me as well.

Yep each, if this site actually had the emblems, that is at least what they would charge, it was a while ago when I bought them and price for parts go up every year  .  So maybe a treat for your car, or swap me a good used crossover if you can find a spare 8)  I do have 25 new GM front air damn/splitter/lower valance, one is already boxed up heavy duty.  Email me if you want to talk about setting any of this up.

True, but that's also gmpartsdirect.com's pricing, which didn't exist back then, and is significantly below today's regular dealer price.  So the dealer price back then was probably fairly close to what that website is charging today.  It would cost around $20-30 for one from the junkyard, and that's 15+ years old, meaning even if it was intact, it would still have numerous paint chips, cracking, missing paint, etc.  I would think $50 - $60 is a bit low.

On the other hand, I am kinda' shocked by the TGP badging prices.  The ones for my STE AWDs (which are made virtually the same way) were $25 brand new from the dealer before they were discountinued a few years ago.    I just picked up a new model Suburban badge for a buddy for $14 (which is wholesale, retail was $20)

GM list is around $190.....

Jeff M

GM list is correct at $195 plus your local sales tax (estimate of 6%) yields $206.70 total at local dealer.  GMpartsdirect adds $23.04 S&H to their $115 price making theirs $138.04 total.  Part of the challenge for me right now with parts is the big sized ones, GMpartsdirect sells a lot and also as a dealer has a better line on cheap shipping so, large parts are hard to compete with for now, smaller ones not such an issue.  When I bought mine they listed for $179 (down from $195 retail today) which was only 2 years ago, and with GMpartsdirect still able to get these, their price is pretty good on these for now.  I invested in a ton on TGP parts so when they are priced beyond what I paid for them I would have something better to offer, and after the parts are discontinued, even a better offering as well still having them.  They come primed and ready to paint black or red.

Well, there are many differences in pricing of similar parts from different cars, even with the same part on the TGP the 4th clutch drum at a price to me of $80 back a few years ago went up to $300 now, quite a few like this now and not just on TGPs or GM cars.  I remember back in 1991 when I bought just one Black TGP Emblem is was $65, wish I had bought more back then even at that price just to have them, even at $85 I know I would at least pay it to have this one key item new (especially on a TGP with a good paint job or new) and especially since most all have little gold left and those removed have nasty chunks of 2-sided foam left and broken glass after removal.

The other names I gave the Lower Valance were other common names used for the same item.  The black thing is the Radiator Deflector and is a key item that is needed.  Another part is the Radiator Lower Baffle that keeps the air captured in the front cavity so it has to go through the condenser and radiator coils.

I think that about covers all the questions  Thanks for waiting!

Question about the TGP Fan MOTORS....

Ballcamp manufacturs the replacement NEW motors for the 89-90 NA Grans Prix... For both single and dual cooling units. Now according to the Ballcamp part numbers;  the main motor used on the dual system is also the SAME motor used as the TGP's primary cooling fan motor.

How can that be? The TGP primary cooling fan motor uses completely different housing than the N/A 3.1?

Jeff M. any insight into this???

Also, does anyone know how to remove the front mounted intercooler fan without having to remove the entire front end of the TGP?

My intercooler fan blade is broken and needs to be replaced. Anyone know of a place to get one. (PS this is the fan blade only, not the motor)[/b]

The motor may be the same, but there is a different size fan.
That is the reason the mounts are diff.
