Ok...from 2 injectors to fuel pressure regular to O2 sensor to MAP sensor to throttle position sensor to plugs and wires to replacing the stock air box to cleaning out the IAC. FAILED! I put in some of that gauranteed to pass fuel additive...ran it through a tank of gas, filled it back up and went to the Emissions Station....PASSED! One thing that I did do after nothing else worked is to enable the secondary cooling fan (in front of intercooler) to be on constantly from the time you turn the ignition on till you turn it off. Did that because my Primary fan motor shredded itself in traffic on a 98 degree day and GM was 3 days to get me a new style fan and motor. $200 for the new style setup... !

My readings were: HC PPM at idle... 508 down to 166 HC PPM. HC PPM at  2500 RPM 264 down to 88... 220 is State maximum to Pass at idle or 2500 RPM.  CO% at idle 1.34 down to 0.85. CO% at 2500 RPM 1.59 down to 1.01... 1.20 is maximum to Pass at idle or 2500 RPM. CO2% was not changed much, but the don't score you on that anyway.

They say High HC (Hydrocarbons) is a result of unburned or partially burned fuel. High CO (carbon monoxide?) readings occur when the Air/Fuel mixture is too rich. I think it is a fowled Cat converter?? Anyone else think of what the problem is...let me know.

What was the brand name of the product to use.  They have changed the emissions requirements in Illinois to restrict CO emissions to 40% of levels used 2 years ago.  I need the product!  Thanks!  : )

If anyone ever has TGP that runs at 220 degrees or more, simply remove your thermostat!  All will be fine until emissions test time!  : ) THe problem was that your thermostat was not opening.  I know from experience with a 10-year old 160-degree stat!
I drive the actual red Turbo Grand Prix (executed by McLaren and American Sunroof Corporation) which was the pace car in the movie "Days of Thunder!" My car was driven by Tom Cruise in the city of Daytona and surrounds during filming of movie which depicted the Daytona 500.

Jeff Middaugh is my TGP guru.  He says he is from Michigan, but lives in Minnesota.  If you own a TGP, call, then visit Jeff for solution of any performance, chassis, or modifications you may desire!

Hey Larry,

I don't have the bottle anymore, but it seems as though the name of it was called "Guaranteed to Pass". It was on the shelf with the fuel system additives. I purchased it at Checker Auto here in Colorado. Go to www.checkerauto.com you might find it there. The next time I go there I will take a look and see exactly what it was.
