Well I found te winter tires I will be putting on the TSTE, but when I put in the demensions for the TGP...it says none available. 245/50/16 shows nothing on Tirerack. Anyone else know of a place to look?

That since there are no snow tires in that larger TGP size   Goodyear used to have some, old school mud and snow versions that were better than an all season, but no more, less you want to fit a 275 snow tire in there from them  I would just take the height of the 245/50/16 and find anything that is the same height but has a smaller width, width is what kills our selection but more so, kills the tires being good at all in snow :!:  BUT, since you can change the VSS value in the chip, find whatever tire you want to fit in there, I think there are 235mm snow tires so that is close to what you are used to with the 245s.

Good luck!

I just got off the phone with the Dunlop dealer in the Springs. I am buying the Snow Sport M3's for the TSTE and was hoping for the same for the TGP. Closest 16" they have is the ones for the TSTE!

I have Good/Year Eagle HP's on the TGP now but they are getting thin and dry rotted on the inside. They were actually pretty good in the snow when I first put them on so maybe I will just put some fresh one's on there and be done with it. I am more concerned with the TSTE cause the wifey drives that with the kiddo more than me anyway. Want something she can keep desent control in in adverse conditions... 8)

That reply from a DIY'R?

Try this 60 series 235mm tire(there are others):

Or this to keep the 50 series with a much better for snow 225mm tread:

Yep, not fun either, had 245mm Eagle GS-C on my first TGP, one super slushy winter day I could not get above 15 mph, or stop  the next day got the Eagle M&S Snow tires in 245mm, too wide but I wanted the rubber so I would not melt it down as fast  , just did them on the front and that was fun, pull around a corner great, while the GS-C in the back slid out RWD fishtail style :D

Yeah Yeah...DIY'er with way too much on his plate right now!

According to a couple of charts I looked at...235/60/16 is 0.4" narrower and 1.45" taller. Not bad and they make the M3 in that size. I just know that this winter is going to be bad around here...my left femur/barometer says so!

I just wish I had enough cash on hand when I bought the TGP back from Luke to have kept that Eagle Talon AWD car. That thing was awesome in the snow! 8)

Yea busy, I hear ya :) And I think its fun to spend lots of money on car parts with someone else's wallet   Maybe if the weather cooperates you can wait until November when that fat check comes in, snow tires are a saftey investment 8) wife should go with that purchase :P.  I got my wife a set of 225/60/16s snow tires for her Toronado Trofeo, they went 3 winters on that car, sold her car (after 12 years of happy ownership, for a car with different sizes/front and rear  ) and put her old snow tires on my Olds 98 for one winter, once I got my TSTE running, sold the Olds 98 and am putting those snow tires on my TSTE now 8) they sure do get around  long as you don't go spinning them

Wow, that much taller/1.45" should help lower the engine rpms and get you better gas mileage 8) and will fill the wheel well though now thinking about it/typing it out, those damn stock 245mm have a tendancy to whack the aero package when you turn the wheel so no way those huge tires will clear  , sorry I almost forgot that when I suggested that snow tire size  , might want to get back with the 225/50/16 in the other link I gave you!

Good luck :D

You would probably be better off getting a cheap set of smaller 15" or 16" wheels from another w-body and getting tires for those.
