IIRC i used one from a '89ish 2.8 Beretta i found in the j/y.  it was a little too long but i got it to work.

Yes, I'm running an '88 Beretta one.  Is a little long but works, just be careful to not break it, then you have a nice exhaust leak :x

it was my understanding that other engines had a different bung on the manifold... guess that's not so?  just bolted right up? does it matter which size engine the 'retta has?

it's not the bung on the crossover pipe (or rear manifold) that is different, it is the way the pipe attatches to the EGR valve you need to watch out for.  some cars have an EGR pipe that is brazed(?) onto the EGR valve and you don't want that.  you need one that can be removed (like the way the original TGP EGR pipe is).  i went searching through the j/y and found some that were too long, some too short, and some that couldn't be removed.  the '88-'89 L-body (and possibly J-body) EGR pipe is the closest fit (the NA 3.1 W-body EGR pipe is just too long IIRC).  mine works great but it was quite a PITA to get it in there.  it was a bit too long so to make up for the length i had to bend the pipe over beneath the throttle body and then back over and down so it could screw onto the bung on the crossover pipe.

That is how mine is.....oh and hopefully no one gets the bright idea of trying to cut it to a desired length and welding the fitting back one...it won't work  That would be SOOO convinient to just have one that goes from crossover to EGR, perfect length....

After my car's back on the road I'm going to be working to make replacements for these pipes.. I dunno how that will go but we'll see. can't keep counting on replacements from 1988..

What happened when you tried to weld it? Also, what metal is the pipe made from?

It just burned thru, the metal is just really weak and thin.  What is it made of, I have no idea, whatever it is it sucks.   Once it was even touched with the heat, it just burned thru.  Stupid thing

However, you can get a metal cap for the fitting on the crossover so if you got lucky, you could possibly find a fitting and put some sort of stainless line or something and have another fitting welded onto the "flange" that bolts onto the EGR or however it works on these ones.  I forget how they work as compared to the Beretas exactly.

Does anyone have the part number for this pipe that's supposedly discontinued?

14102605?

On Jeorge's site, that part # is listed as "Tube, EGR TRFER."

I know, that's where I got it from.

GMPartsDirect still lists it.

Could still be discontinued.. but I'm curious. Was that the actual number that is supposedly discontinued?
