The chip doesnt like brake torquing? What fun is that... lol
I checked the x-over and downpipes for leaks, they are alright. I';m leaning towards a bad cat, though. It gets kinda warm even on short runs, and has the good old rotten egg smell. Good time to have a new exhaust system installed- sans catalytic..hehehe...
90 TGP- Mods, yeah I have them...
90 DSM Turbo 5-speed
02 Beetle GLS

The downpipe will not crack, those are ok.  The crossover WILL leak, if it isn't already.  Its a design flaw...crappy flex joints and poor fittment at the factory.  Some will crack at the flex joints right away, some will last for a while, but they all will leak eventually.  Jeff M from this forum sells a excellent replacement...it uses better flex joints and has proper fittment so you don't have to flex the joints too much during install.  PM him and he'll tell you all about it.

Hey Zach, do you ever make it to peoria? I see a red tgp with aftermarket wheels and a loud assed exhaust rolling around from time to time. Is that you by chance? Btw I wouldnt mind heading over to bloomington some time to hang, cruis talk cars...etc. Chances are I could find a few sotck and not so stock dsm's to come along and play with..
