I thought I would start a new thread for this as it is totally unrelated to the squirter...

Got it running (which is AWESOME!) but it seems to be idling high, at least to me.  Is it supposed to idle at 2k?  I thought Jeff's chip resolved the stall issue by raising the idle but this much?

Maybe I'm just psychotic about it  :icon_eek:  and it's supposed to run like that but it just seems odd.

EDIT ***  You know I did a search for "high idle" and didnt find anything relative to what I thought was going on.  So as I was looking down through the posts I came across the startup idle post and would you belive it didn't show up in the search???  So scratch this wntire post and forget I asked such a retarded question when the answer was 4 lines down  :icon_redface:

No worries man. Ask the questions and we will help where we can. I need to get some free time and organize the "How Do I" section to make it easier to figure out common issues. :icon_cool:

I think it's setup well, but it either needs more sticky's for the most common probs or the search engine needs upgraded to a broader search on keywords.  I havent put one of these together in years so I'm not sure what it takes any more but it still rocks!

Considering all the work you've done lately I would check for vaccume leaks. If its not that I would lean towards the IAC and would try resetting it.Later

Well I did the Idel Learn thingy this morning and it did seem to help it out (only at 2k instead of 3k now)  Also when it was in gear before it would ping out at 2k consistantly and now it sits at 1200 +/- a few.  I think I saw in the code of Jeff's chip that it should be around 900 RPM's at running temp so maybe the TPS is just old and needs replaced since that is prob the ONLY sensor I haven't replaced.

On a side note and I know this belongs in a diff topic but what the hell:

I had a G6 on my ass today on my way to work (which is 27 miles one way and ALL highway).  I thought it was pretty and all with the fake hood scoop and fancy lights and flashy paint job.  I couldn't help but ease into the gas a little just to see what my new baby would do!

What to my wondering eyes would appear but a tiny G6 running on 4 little reindeer pulling up next to me with its fart can and all making that funny noise they make.  There sat a pudgy looking fellow smiling at me as he pulled away from me.  It was all I could take not to trade some paint with him but since this was my new baby I just coulnt bring myself to it.  So I thought to myself:  "Self, are you gonna take this from a pudgy fellow in a G6????"

Well, the first thing I thought about was all the hours and cuts and blood that I have put into my beloved TGP and all of the wonderful help I received from the great people here helping me get her running!  That alone just flat pissed me off  :icon_mrgreen: .  I wasnt about to let this freak dupe me!  I floored my girl, this turbo hissed, and away I went!  The last thing I saw as I pulled pass the pudgy fellow was him leaning forward like he was going to rock more speed out of his 4 tiny reindeer!  It's a sight I will never forget and never stop laughing about!  He sorta kept up for a half mile or so and then all I saw was this pretty green color disappear in my rear view

All this and all I wanna say is THANK YOU all for helping me get this wonderful girl of mine going!  I have learned so much over the last few weeks and I know I still have a lot to go and as I go I will offer what I can to those that need it!

x-over is Jeffs  ;)  and I just changed the injectors.  It doesnt idle shitty just a little higher than I'd like it.  Luke just changed his injectors and it looks like he's having the same issue so we'll see if it's in the idle learn process that I might have missed.

You have a good cross-over...what chip is in the car?

Have you pulled your IAC to see if you have a build-up of carbon in there? Look also into the passages of the throttle body to see if there is build-up in there.

I do not recall if you said it or not. What injectors did you put in the car? All new, a couple new, what brand and flow rate, etc.

As Adam (flybynite) said you will want to look for vacuum leaks after the other work you did.

Let me know please so we can get deeper into the issues.

Good slap around for the G6! I always get a kick out of some people with their cars trying my patience and right foot self control.

I think we need to kill one of these two posts  ;)

I checked AND cleaned all that when I had her apart.  I figured it best to do that then rather than wait til she needed it  :icon_mrgreen:

I answered the chip question in the high idle post whichi is why I made the kill comment so I wont re-itterate that here and bore you to death TWICE!

As for the G6, I have absolutely zero foot-self-control when it comes to people like that and this big girl.  I have never had so much fun driving a car as I have this week!  I know now why there are boards like this great one dedicated to our TGP's.  I'm just ticked because I didn't learn much sooner than 37 years old  :icon_cry:
