I need a GM part # for a TGP Oil Pressure Sending Unit. Mine is leaking oil.

Much thanks, Matt

I need to order one too.. Our oil gauge spazzes out sometimes, it's kinda funny to watch.

Well, I ended up buying a Niehoff sending unit from Canadian Tire instead, because then I could fix it right away. I put it in the TGP today, and no more oil leak. :) Its quite the trick loosening the old one and tightening the new one. I removed the oil filter, but still had to work around the 2 coolant lines for the oil cooler (didn't feel like draining the coolant). Between a combination of channel locks and a 1 1/16" wrench, I got the job done. Ideally an EXTRA deep 1 1/16" socket would work very well....if you can find one. Thanks for the replies.

you got in there with a channel locks & wrench? :icon_eek:  i tried and tried but could not do it.

i ended up just pulling the oil cooler and oil filter adapter off.  i had to use a 1 & 1/8" deep socket.  regular NA 3.1 sensor was 1 & 1/16" but the TGP sensor is bigger (at least mine was).

Update, just re-replaced this part today, this time with a GM part. Niehoff POS only lasted 14k.

Lost about a quart of oil before I realized oil was pissing out of the oil pressure sending unit.

Left a nice trail down my street and driveway.

Anyways, no harm done.

This time I customized a 1 1/16" deep socket to get the job done. Stretched it an additional 3/4" by cutting it in half and welding it back together with a piece of pipe in between as a spacer.

Lesson learned, buy GM sensors.

Any tips to get this sucker off?  I think mine is trickling a little oil.   If I had to I'll take out the cooler, but prefer not to deal with doing that..again....thanks Matt!

Also, I assume GM has lots of these in stock?
