Well the Pink Top 3800 series injectors are on backorder...not sure when they will be available. Bruce at fiveOmotorsport has ASSURED me that the Ford Racing Yellow Top 19# rated injector has the exact same body, flow, and pressure rating of 21.5-22# as the 3800 pink tops.

He is overnighting them to me tonight and I will have them in the car tomorrow evening. I am curious to see what happens...I told Bruce I would bring my LG5 motor to him as a chest or paper weight (his choice) if they lean my motor to death! He laughed and said that Ford rates them at 19# but he swears they are the same other than the spray pattern. He said they actually help atomize the fuel much better than the Pink Tops.

We shall see! :icon_cool:

can always turn them up a notch.... ;) if needed

I am running 30lb svo injectors(red top)in my TGP now.Back in March I replaced my stockers with some 24lb svos(blue top)and noticed quite a difference.I had 2 reasons for going to the 30lbers.They were free and sombody else wonted the 24s more than I did.($$)With the larger injectors it was a whole lot easier to control knock retard with my aggressive timing and fuel maps. The 19 lb injectors should be fine but will not be as forgiving as the 24s or 30s at wot. Also keep in mind it dosent take much to max out the stock injector. If it were mine I would go no lower than 24s.Later

Hey Adam...long time no see! ;)

I am going in steps for people to be able to buy "kits" to run good, then up the performance a step at a time. I know these are too small as are the stockers...but to get things where they need to be progressively it is a needed step.

Anyway...will have them in my hands tomorrow and give them a whirl!

Those Ford fuel injectors are rated at Ford's typical fuel pressure rating(38psi), so they are about 21.1# on our fuel pressure rating. I'm sure they would work well until you really start "modding" the car. ;) I bet our stock injectors are probably closer to an actual 21# rating anyways(anyone have a part number for our stock injectors by any chance?)...

HOLY SHITSA!! :icon_eek:

Well got the car running last night after making the Josh Mitchell heater core performance mod.

She is running better than I ever remember!  :willy_nilly: Between the new Walbro pump and the injectors it is amazing. Ran a log on it and seems like it is right on for settings that I have. Might need to tweak low RPM a touch because it is just BARELY a tad rich.

So the Yellow Tops from Five0motorsport.com are another alternative to the EXPENSIVE OEM injectors. They are the same price as the 3800 series injectors so...if they do not have the 3800's then these will work perfectly also.

can the fuel rail be bolted down using the Ford injectors?

ABSOLUTELY! No issues there. The injectors have two sets of clip slots in them. What I did was to set the injectors in the manifold ports first. Then put the rail in place and push down to get the o-rings in the rail and put the rail bolts in and torqued. I then put the injector clips in place but they did not go in the injector slot right away. I then twisted slightly and pulled up on the injector to pull them up from the manifold and into the fuel rail...when the clip clicked TWICE (one slot on each side and they all seated seperately on the 6 injectors) into the top slot of the injector I knew they were seated top and bottom. Not a drop leaking from the Walbro 255 HP pump pushing the fuel.

ps...I got your stuff today Josh! The bellows came today also...40 of them and all 40 were 2.5" ID! :icon_evil: So I called and they are sending the proper ones today. First ones took 4 days to get here so bare with me. :icon_cool:

They yellow top ford injectors work very well as a stock replacement.

I just made a 5 speed TGP chip for a guy down in Quebec with a Cavalier, and it works perfect, he runs the yellow tops, and a slighty modified TGP chip.
