Bushings

Okay guys, I got everything apart on the TGP.  Now I need the help!  Where am I to get new control arm and cradle bushings?  Also front springs?  (Maybe A Drop Setup, nothing dramatic)  What about lower engine mount bushing?  Thanks guys!

i'm pretty sure rockauto.com has AC Delco control arm bushings available.

Moog makes "problem solver" versions also....thats what i have in mine (control arm bushings that is)

I've been using those bushings in my '93 for three years now.  (Off-Topic: nice to see Kate is back :icon_mrgreen:)



For a lower engine mount, NAPA markets a solid mount under the "Balkamp" brand(shake the mount to assure that it's solid, people have received hydraulic mounts packaged in the boxes meant to house the solid ones). If you decide to go with a hydraulic fluid filled mount, stay away from anchor brand, I've seen a lot of those fail prematurely. For the cradle bushings, see this sheet I scanned(particularly, the bottom right corner of the page). http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f14/platjblser/gp5.jpg It's recommended to replace bolts, retainers, etc. along w/ the bushings. Torque those cradle bolts to 103 ft-lbs by the way.

What was everyone's method for replacing those things? I literallly bent my control arms when I did mine, and kind of gave up on the idea of putting in new ones when I get another set of control arms.

Had mine pressed out and pressed in the new ones at a machine shop (control arm bushings)

I second this.  I bought anything and everything associated with supporting the sub-frame, and boy am I glad I did.  All the bushings and retainers/washers were pretty much toast.  Do it once, and do it right, so you'll never have to deal with it again.

My total cost on this was $150.

ANybody have the part number for those "Problem Solver" control arm bushing?

I'm pretty sure those "problem solver" things are chocks for the rear monoleaf and have nothing to do with the front control arms.. or the rear lateral arms. They're supposed to reposition the ends to compensate for the leaf's age sag.

Moog "Problem solver" front control arm bushings as seen in this pic i took 5 years ago.

on the left side of the tie-rod ends under the Moog box they came in

I don't remember the part #, but pretty much any parts chain should be able to order them for you. "TRW" is also another decent brand to look for if you can't find the moog ones.

Ummmm I need all of that except the sway bar for the clunky front end of the TGP. Anyone find this kit anywhere? P/N?

not a kit, i bought it all individually less the 34mm sway bar.
