the woes continue (weird chip prob maybe?)

again for reference this is on my 93 3.1 cavalier:

well after removing the plenum, tb, etc. and knowing for sure that there are no vac. leaks. the car continues to run like shit. cutting out and killing the engine as soon as you press the gas and having it buck while driving. the only way to move is to hold the gas a little and put it in gear, very rough idle, when i mash it down it doesn't rev limit, but couldn't go much higher than 3 grand also a dead spot while initialy depressing the gas at any kind of driving. so i got another chip, pretty much the same shit.

NOW here's the kicker i put the stock memcal and hyperchip back in. the car runs like it should, smooth idle, very minor bucking probs. no cutout or dead spot at all while initialy depressing the gas. the only thing it does is sometimes dies when depressing the break. not stalling out, but just instantly shutsoff and it also does this EVERY time when placing it nuetrul while driving.

i would think plugs, wires, coils, vac leaks. that kind of route. but that's just it. the car runs fine with the stock chip. ALL WITH 30# INJECTORS!!!

I'm at a loss.

well if ur running those big ass injectors and its not turboed yet (wich is what it sounds like your saying) it will run reallly shitty

yeah, everything's there, just can't hook the acuator up until i get the tranny rebuilt to handle the power and a larger exhaust.  it will still run shitty even though the code is for 30# injectors???

You can run 50-60 lbs injectors if you want with or without a turbo and it does not matter...unless you have not tuned for that size injector. All you need to change is the fuel mapping and pulse width and it will be fine.

Hyperchips does not know SHIT ALL TO ANYTHING about the LG5. I have seen a couple of their "tunes" and they are so rediculous in settings it cracks me up!

If you have a stock cross-over it needs to be rebuilt, replace ALL sensors, and tune the chip.

Do you have a laptop that you can datalog with TunerPro RT?

i have a laptop, but never datalogged before.  that's what i don't understand that hypertech is basically a stock chip and it works perfectly except it does one thing and that is cutout when braking and in neutral.  but the idle is good and no cutout on accelerating and no bucking/jerking while letting off the gas while driving.  the crossover is good and i have diff. chips that are modified tgp code for 30# injectors, that's what i can't figure.  i also have the 2bar map installed and larger fuel pump.

^^^^also don't have a scanner and nobody seems to have 1st gen.  maybe a bad egr?  i've been letting the car warm up, i then notice after driving for a while, smoke starts pouring out the driver's side hood crevise.  pop open the hood and it seems to be coming from around that general direction but its always too hot to take things off to inspect and thats the only time it does it.

What cross-over do you have? Do not tell me it is fine...do you have a Jeff M or a stock built or one you redid?

it's a redid stock unit.  i've had a couple people look it over and there's no leaks.  besides there were no probs with the 24# injectors and the stock chip.

Then your chip is not set properly to handle the larger injectors. Your lower timing tables and timing for fuel decel may be off as well as the decel fuel enrichment as you are slowing.

Have any of your friends driven behind you when you are slowing down? Do they say there is black smoke from the tailpipes or when you restart is there a cloud of black smoke as soon as it starts?

If you want my help I will need some honest input from you if we are going to get things straightened up. Do not guess at an answer. If you do not know the answer truly do not guess or just agree. I hate that crap because it takes 100x longer than it should if the facts are lined out on the table. I am not trying to sound like a prick or if you have not told me straight answers...but putting it on the table to try and get you helped. ;)

I am tied up alot at the shop and my answers may be far and few between but we will get you straightened up. If you are looking for a speedy answer that will get you working for sure also...talk to Invasion1 (Dave)!

don't know where you're getting that info from, but i'm here to give you everything that i know at this point.  believe me i'm tired of messing with this and want it taken care of and will help in any way i can.  as far as checking the exhaust out i will and try that and let you know.

I made him a chip Kenny but after all that i just tried to read here im not sure what the car has on it.... :icon_neutral:

I made a chip that should be close to what he needs but i needed more info to get the fuel tables set better so its a work in progress i thought.

so i dunno where it stands now......one_fast_prix is this my chip? and that list of mods you gave me that it has are ALL those currently on the car?? Turbo, Injectors etc etc.

I made you a chip that was for all of those variables and if your missing one or more it ain't gonna work  :icon_rolleyes:

YES, there are 30# injectors that are installed in the car.  AND YES the turbo is installed but the accuator is not connected so i'm not boosted right now.  after the shit i've been going through i don't know how to figure out the culpret.  i think at this point the way to go is get another set of stock injectors and go from there with the stock memcal and make sure something hasn't quit working in the middle of things.
