I have decided to part out my black 89 with 110,00 miles.  Page 4 has some updates on what is available or just PM me and I will always respond within 24-48 hours.

Texas car through 4/03.  Have put 45K on this since 04 when I rebuilt the moto to stock specs.  Car is driveable if you are not weak at heart (no hood on the car, no horn, no front R lights at all, power seats stopped working during my wreck??, frame is bent--guaranteed salvage title next transfer, new rear brake calipers, pads, proportioning valve, etc in 7/06.  Tires are needing replace all the way around but these are on the SILVER crosslace wheels with the same offset and width as TGP.  Front valance is still good/better than some I've seen, Hud is accurate but needs soldered, Passenger seat is worth keeping/Driver seat has holes in one thigh booster.  Passenger door is good, driver door is good/exterior handle not working, trunk is good with clear coat failing, ass end is good, B4U is good from doors to rear--not perfect but no breaks, sunroof works, steering wheeel controls work, heater buttons are beginning to smash in, now for the mechanicals on the engine/trans.

Engine was rebuilt(65K) in 1/04-blueprinted to OEM specks with an auxillary oiler added made from 1/16 or 3/32 i.d.tubing for the oiling issue on the #9 &#10 cam lobes--this is what has failed for me 2 times-- in this 89 and another 90TGP I had in '94.  Upper and Lower intake manifolds are coated with heat reflective capacity ceramic--front valve cover also coated in this chrome colored ceramic.  Exhaust manifolds are coated with a black heat reflective ceramic.  Jeff M crossover also coated inthe black ceramic (flex joints were left uncoated due to the flexing under expansion/contraction cycles was said to possiby crack and flake the coating).  Turbo is coated with the chrome color on the front half and black on the back half--eliminates the need for the turbo "tear apart" blanket.  Turbo is still good but does have 110K on it--probably due for a fix soon--with any luck you might get another 110K out of it I really couldn't say.  I've always had a K & N on the car.  All engine management sensors were replaced in 1/04 as well as all vacuum lines including the one feeding the throttle body (GM only part).  Transmission is slipping I believe, I have not lost any gears but it doesn't feel like the power is getting to the pavement under hard acceleration, needs rebuild unless a very womanly driver were to take posession of the car/trans soon.  Coatings alone were around $600 and that is the reason for my desire to get some $$ out of this.

OK,this car was my baby and it hurts to let it go and I will not take less than $850 for the whole car and will not take less than $600 for the motor.  I have 4K in receipts just since 1/04--yes I know some is routine maintenance but I know how that stuff gets pushed back due to other expenses and priorities--especially for people who might take this to the dealership and look at the balance in the checkbook to try to justify the expense.  I did or helped do everything to this car that I possibly could and it saved me probably 3K in labor!!!!  Not trying to scare folks off but just want you to know if you are planning on a project prepare yourself.  I will also let you know that I have a full time job doing physical work and will not be able to rent a cherry picker and pull the trans and motor within 24 hours of someones request for such.  I intend to pull the motor as soon as the weather begins to warm or when someone has given me a feeling that they really want it.  Other smaller things from the interior or that will not make it unsafe to drive may be available next week depending on my work schedule.  This is just a preliminary heads up if you are looking at buying some nice parts or an entire running but not realistically resotorable vehicle.

I drive this thing at least 3 times per week and it seems to be running great other than the tranny problem.  Oh yea the seats have worked  since I redid some wiring inside the consolewhere the whole loom bends when the console closes--they just stopped when I had the wreck--could be another wire issue in the console rewire or could have something to do with the wreck--I do not know.  I will check messages at least 1 time every 2 days to answer questions or put some pictures up somewhere--possibly through Kenny on here.  If I do not generate interest on the boards, this thing will go to sleezebay.

Thanks, and God Bless.  Car is locatred in Omaha, NE.

I edited and put the price in BOLD so people can actually see that stand out through that super whopper paragraph

Yeah I know in this day of ebay and 2 celphones and a pager on you belt or in your pocket people just don't talk with any detail.        Didn't want 6,000 questions tomorrow but it looks like people are reading this board again.  How is Jeff doing these days--he used to ramble on but seems to have been hit withthe busy bug last 6 months--of coarse his rambling was usually a good thing and sometimes extremely informative.

If you have it, can I get a rear bumper reflector?  I need one of the red reflectors that go above each exhaust tip.

Nick, you can get those in a junk yard just as cheap as this fella can sell it to you. There must have been as many as 13 1992-3 GP in daytona beach J/Y. If I knew that, then I sure would've grab it.   :icon_cool:

So Maddux, do you have one of the red rear bumper reflectors that go above the exhaust tips?

guys let keep it a Parts F/S thread  ;)

Hello Maddux!!

Your thread was referred as we're looking for a hood, bumper and grills for 1990 Turbo Grand Prix. Our son was in an auto accident and the insurance company has relented to fix it if we can locate the parts listed. I noticed you didn't have a hood but how about the front bumper and grills? Thanks.
