Hey guys...  Im going to try to explain what my car is doing.   It appears that it should be getting more boost.... it did it last night and this morning.  I punched it like i usually do and the turbo spooled up way louder than it usually does and the car pulled a lot harder,  then it lost all power for a split second and shifted .  It threw a code 31 which i think might be overboost?  Anyway, it was a tease of  hidden power and i really wish the car would pull like that all the time.   Any ideas?  I know i put all the intercooler clamps on and all the vacuum lines look good.  Also i do not have the 511 heads on right now , they are 26cc heads which might be part of the problem?   Just trying to catch up... thanks  Ike

Yes code 31 is overboost.  I've had the same thing happen to mine.

check your vacuum lines running from the solenoid attached to the front of the plenum, and the subsequent two lines that run to turbo.  If they are cracked or popped off it will cause an overboost situation, thereby causing the ECM to cut fuel to prevent detonation.  Don't run it like that or you will pop a piston or 6.  Resist the urges!!

It doesn't run anymore.

Ok, the lines were not broke,  i happened to break one and now the car has crazy boost.  Maybe the wastegate solenoid stopped working?  Should i get a manual boost controller and set it to 12?   Can the computer still prevent detonation without the stock solenoid?   I still have to change my heads....

ok i think i understand now- thanks guys
