when tuning part throttle, I normally increase the TPS% to engage PE mode. whats the highest I should bring that up to? if its too low and goes into PE mode, then the BLM stays at 128 correct? because I cant tune if the BLM isnt changing. so I would assume I should just keep the throttle low and let the RPM glide up when datalogging for part throttle tuning. but my concern is when the TPS is low, the MAP reading generally doesnt go very high. so it would seem im only tuning the lower MAP vs RPM ranges then

A wideband would make this alot easier but you can get by without one.Disable PE mode(99%tps)Use the VE tables to add fuel till you you've just about maxed it out.If you have enough injector you wont even need PE mode.Use PE mode for higher rpms for an extra splash of fuel if needed. Also by disabling PE mode you will be able to use the BL all the way to redline and that will be helpfull since you don't have a wideband.Good luck..Adam

ok sounds like a plan :)

I think im gonna lower/raise the min/max allowable BLM when doing this just to be safe

How did this method work out for you Scott?

I haven't messed with part throttle yet.  I went right to PE mode.  lol.

been running rough at part throttle for 2 years now, I didn't really care...

Also, does that VE vs. MAP X RPM table go into 100+ map (boost).  I forget already.

I built some headers for my car, and will be re-tuning it over again soon.

Mars is there anyway you can get some pics of these headers, I'm still trying to come up with and idea on how I'm going to do mine. Thanks Jimmy,

its worked really good. its especially important to tune the part throttle BLM's if they are lean. for obvious reasons, plus if its above 128 before PE, it richens PE mode accordingly

so if you already tuned your PE, then went back and found part throttle was lean you would have to do it all over again

hopefully thats not your case though lol

ya the VE vs MAP vs RPM goes past 100kpa, but I've only had to tune under 100kpa since my turbo doesnt spool at part throttle LOL

Haha, well, yeah.

I'll have to re-do it all.

Give me an example of how long you run the car, to get an accurate BLM for that map load / rpm.

Maybe, go 50 mph in 3rd gear for a minute (2,3 mins??), then 50 in 4th, 50 in 5th.  then goto say 60 mph for the same thing, not much throttle, just cruisin'.  Should get a decent log after half an hour of that right?

I get tip in hesitation, wheneveer I change from say 1/4 throttle to 1/2 throttle it goes WAY rich on the WB, bucks once, then a second later, runs fine back near stoich.  if I ease into the gas real smooth, it's fine.  but if I am "twitchy" on the gas pedal, it bucks.

This can also be AE Accel Enrichment, I haven't messed with this table yet.  I will though.

Also, WHERE is the calculator that you made  to get the new VE table All i get is dead links.??  maybe you can e-mail it to me.  marcelbrosseauAThotmail.com

I also get no boost at part throttle.  I have to be 3/4 - WOT for boost, so that should work fine for me as well.

They are not turbo headers, I have a blower...
