Disabling key chime

Can anyone please tell me how to disable this thing?Its driving me crazy. :bash:Thanks

below the glovebox there is a black shield thing, reove the 2 plastic phillips scres from it then pop out the clips, theres a bunch of breakes you willl see down there, you will also see a brown box thats about the size of a deck of playing cards, thats the chime, just pull it out and your good to go

Is it stuck on/chiming at random or do you just not like the chime? I pulled the one in my car about two years ago because it would chime at random and get stuck on. I guess I'll eventually replace it, although it's nice not having it there at all. :icon_mrgreen:

Well when i put the new key cylinder in i had to move the chime wiring out of the way to get to the torx screw.I went to move it back and it wouldnt budge so i left it where it was.When i got done the stupid thing was going off while the doors where closed and no key in ignition.Thanks for the replies.
