Auto trans rebuild upgrades?

ok,  my buddy is a transmission tech and he said he would rebuild the stock TGP trans while my motor is at the machine shop.   We're not sure if a stock rebuild would be a good idea with boost upgrades and such.  Are there any available reinforced rebuild kits ? I know these cars generally only run around a 14 in a quarter but is 275-300 hp too much for a stock 4t60hd?

only person i knew who had a badass 4t60HD built is Jim W (IDbeast)

So HD it was painted PINK even.  ;)

thats the only one i have heard of......many people have had rebuilds done and im sure most have just actually been regular 4t60's and got charged extra when they insisted there was a HD version.

There are very few in the 14"s like 9, only 2 in the 13's both mid 13's. the norm is about 15.3.

There are parts avaliable. kevlar bands, red clutches a third gear clutch drum that alows more clutches, sprage units with more elements in them, transgo shift kit, adajustable modulators, stall converters(expensive) damn gotta get mine in someday.

As I remember (it was 8 years ago) it cost me 24 0r 2500 for the best parts we could find along with the rebuild. Couldn't guess what the parts would be now but if you search I am sure you can find them. I can't remember all the aftermarket stuff they put in mine. I was like 600 over the rebuild.

Mine has supported 325 to 350 HP for quite some time.

I just rebuilt mine (with some help) with every modification / improvement that could be done to it including a LSD.  If you or your buddy take the time to look (look for both 44T4 & 4T60) you'll find all the parts that you'll need.
2004 GTP -  3.8 Blown - Only modding for MPG.
1997 GTP  - 3.8 Blown - Too many mods to list.
1996 GTP - 3.4 DOHC - Twin to my 1997.
1995 SE - soon to be a 3.8 turbo car.
1990 TSTE x 2 white cloth
1990 TSTE x 1 maroon leather
1990 TGP - 5 speed.

Im pretty sure i can find stronger bands and the shift kit but everything else im still looking.... What is an LSD , its not the same LSD i know of.  Where can i find that 3rd gear clutch drum with extras, and what do the adjustable parameters control?   What are "red" clutches and where do i find them?  Sprag units?  where do i find. Does anyone have a list of trans mods with brands and part numbers  or anything?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I started it, but like a bonehead I forgot to put on the oil return line and it was leaking so I shut it off right away, then it was time to go spend some family time before I came back to Iraq (where I am now).  TGPilot will finish it when he gets a chance, it was running rich but it started. :icon_mrgreen:

TGPilot will need to let me know how it runs when he gets it running, with all the time & money I put into it, it should be a screamer.....With "stage II" bigger turbo, bigger Injectors, bigger IC, bigger Rad, etc (parts I already have) it should be scary fast.
