This things going to cost me at least 1000 for the block rebuild and another 1200 for the trans rebuild. I'm not sure if the block is going to be bored yet, but its going to be as basic as possible.   The trans is gettign overhauled with red clutches, kevlar bands, shift kit and possibly higher stall converter....  Im leaving it to the trans tech to find the right parts...  Is this too much money going in this car? its only worth 2000 probably. haha  even when im done.

Unless you are going to make some major changes to the cam and turbo there is absolutly no reason to change the stall in the converter. If you make some power you can get right at 2700 RPM from a stock converter. Dont waste your money if it's a stock rebuild.

$$ wise depends on how much you like the car. I have well over 35k in mine. 1200 on a trans rebuild is cheap.

ok thanks i should probly keep the same stall, but should i not use the old one?

If 4th lock up works good there is no reason to change the converter.
