Recharge my AC

I need to recharge my AC.  Everything is in working order: I replaced my AC compressor with a working one, and today I had the AC system vacuumed down.  So I got home, ready to recharge my AC and it seems like it won't suck down the refrigerant.... I've tried jumping the relay also with no success... I sat there with the recharge can on the system for 20 minutes and it doesn't seem like it sucked down any of the refrigerant.  What gives?

LOL nevermind!  Turned out the valve on the filler tube/gauge I was using was bad.  I'll have to go pick up a new one tomorrow.

Ok does anyone know if Johnson's Freeze 12 is compatible with R134A?

Well I recharged my AC today.  First I added a little 4 ounce bottle of compressor oil to the system.  Next, I added 3 cans of Arctic Freeze R-134A refrigerant- the compressor fired up and started working during the addition of the first can of refrigerant, then the AC system sucked all 3 cans of refrigerant dry!  The result is an EXTREMELY cold AC!  I put a thermometer in the car and the AC now makes the interior of the car get down to 42* :icon_eek: 
This is the coldest AC I've ever felt- I work at a Ford dealership (automotive detailer) and get to drive all the cars on the lot- it definitely colder than any car I've ever driven there, including Fords, Chevys, Dodges, even the import cars!   Its so awesome lol :laugh:

Thats because our TGP's have a larger refrigerant capacity than pretty much all newer cars.

Ya, I am actually impressed with the coldness of my AC, never tested the temp, but it blows my 99 Bu out of the water...lol I don't think it's been converted over, I think it is still R12 in there, cuz I didn't see a sticker anywhere indicating it was converted.

I know- I froze my ass off sitting inside the car- I got out and was shivering lol!  42* is pretty damn cold in the middle of summer.  It was 81* here today btw.
