I know I don't need a heater as I am about to store my TGP but has anyone had any heater problems.

My fan blows well but blows cold air only, I checked the heater hoses and pipes under the hood and everything looks fine, I also put a new thermostat and new antifreeze in and the engine warms up nicely.

Is there some sort of a valve that isn't working that lets the antifreeze into the heater core?

Does your temp gauge show that it is getting up to operating temperature (~180-195*) while you're trying to blast the heat?

Yeah TGP Nick, the temp gauge reads right around 185.

Bad HVAC control box? Assuming all heater core hoses are attached and coolant is heating up properly.....what else could it be?

Heater core? I've never had a heater go out **knock on wood** but my friend had a heater go out in her car and needed the heater core replaced...the fan motor blew and all, just no heat.

Usually if a heater core goes, in my experience, you'll have coolant misting through the vents, leaking onto the floor, and a sweet odor in the air.

LOL she was acting pretty loopy at that pint in her life, so I wouldn't doubt if she had fumes blowing in at her lol.

a core can clog up. Are both hoses getting hot and if so how hot. We have had good luck with disconnecting the hoses and reverse flushing the core if it is clogged. Do you vents switch ok.

Yeah the vents switch over, everything works except cold air, I will try reversing the hoses. The hoses are hooked up at the firewall so I don't think the core is bypassed. By the way the AC works great.

Remove the inside of the glove box, Look to the left behind the radio. You will see a lot of crap but what your looking for is a temp control valve. Bolts to the heater core box. Has 3 wires going to it. When you move the temp control switch on the heater control panel, it sends a signal to the temp control valve that opens/closes the flap at the heater core. I bet thats your problem    :icon_cool:

Yep, found the temperature valve controller (right behind the vacuum air changer) banged on it a bit and bingo lots of heat. Went back and forth with the temperature control 6-7 times and it went from cold to hot and works great now.

Thats why this board is so good, thanks to everyone who replied with ideas.
