Hey I NEED a new transmission for the TGP. Anyone have one in perfect shifting and working condition? If not, can you suggest a tranny that will bolt up and will be able to handle the torque?

Also what would it take to be able to use an electronic transmission instead of a vacuum one like our stock ones?

OBD II Swap?  Unless there is a way to make your own shift program.  If you are going to go that far I would use a 4T65-E or 4T65-E HD, My GTP has more torque than I know what to do with, and the 4T65-E HD has stood up with no signs of issues yet, at 160K.  (Knock on Wood)  My understanding is that the only difference between the 4T65-E and its HD brother is the upgraded differential.

Yeah, I just couldn't figure out a way to work in the one member who claimed that adding a valance to his lightbulb kept it from overheating...

Is there anyway to make the 4T65HD vacuum controlled? Might be totally laughable, but just curious.

No, and you'd still have the issue of shifting it electronically
