Ok, I've searched, but I cannot find a diagram on how to install a blow off valve ont our cars. www.turboste.com has been taken down, and most I've read are just about what type of BOV they are using. So I need two things:

1) Diagram to install, and WHERE to install, BOV.

2) What type do I use? Recommendations...I'm thinking about just using a standard Eclipse Gen1 BOV and flange, non-crushed of course, but I'd like to know what everyone else uses.

I just got a Gen 1 DSM BOV complete with flange yesterday.  I'll send you some pics later once I get it welded on.

Now you got the steel flange, not the aluminum, correct?

Thats correct.  Our IC pipes are steel also.

Any idea where you will be mounting it...Upper IC pipe, I assume, but which location? And Nick do you have a diagram of how the vac lines and anything else should go?

Upper IC pipe, right by the TB.  That is the best and most effective location.  Putting it on the lower IC pipe is not as effective, because when you let off the gas and that butterfly closes, the air gets forced backward and you want it to be able to bleed off as soon as possible.  I don't have a diagram of it.

I have mine on the lower IC mount.....I don't know how it works, but I know a number of guys are running them there with no problems.  I'm not concerned about it, and IMO it looks better out of site, than stuck on the upper IC pipe.

I have mine on the lower charge pipe. I'll post pics up a bit later once I get them off my camera. I used a 1G DSM BOV, I actually have a spare one if you are interested.

Definately interested, and please post pics if you can. Dogbone, doesn't the BOV get a little too close to the hood, or is there still plenty of room?

Never seen BOV's  that close on the turbo side before. Just about every Factory Turbo car all had the BOV's closer to the Throttle Body. But hey maybe you guys are onto something...or is this another "I saw my buddy do it to his car" trend.

Grinders:  Dogbone's is a First gen as well...It will hold 20 PSI and if you crush the spring it will hold 25 Psi if you are crazy enough to throw that at your 6 Banger. Definitely your cheapest and efficient option that does the job, Looks nice a stock too. Also you can run a filter on the end of the BOV to keep the valve from taking in any dirt. I run the 1st gen DSM Bov on my Turbo Bike aswell and at 10 PSI that thing sounds good.  As for where to Tee it into...any manifold source is fine, but don't take it off your Fuel Pressure Regulator!

If I would have kept the car I would have either Wrapped the IC pipes with header wrap and or got it Coated...there's alot of heat under the hoods of those cars...especially around the charge pipes. Would be wise to keep that heat out with some Header wrap or high heat coating.

Exactly.  Every car I've ever looked at, that came factory with a BOV, had the BOV mounted within a few inches of the TB.  Why do you think they all decided to mount them there?  There IS a reason to mount your BOV near the TB and why all the other manufacturers mount it there also.

Well actually this subject has been talked about for years. I've heard both ideas and they both sound good enough for me to pick both, but I can't, so I had to choose upper or lower and I pick the upper because the same reason why your picked it. But that still don't make it the best. So I've been telling people and friends to think it over carefully themslves and decide. That makes it the best way. :icon_cool:
