Anyone have a T.V. Cable (kickdown cable) part number? I've searched but didn't find one.

I just used a tv cable from a N/A 3.1 4T60 car, and wrapped the end of it in header wrap where it goes between the x-over and the turbo.

The only difference is that the N/A one is plastic on the trans end vs the TGP one that is metal.

My plastic one has been holding up problem free for over a year now.

Sorry no part # though.

Are there any places that sell header wrap in less than 50 feet packages? Also, the kickdown cable for the TGP is only like $15 from Advance Auto.

I have the part number at work but it is dicontinued and a place called vintage part has 2 left but they want almost 200 dollars for 1. I pulled up the drawing of the part but it is a crappy photo copy to try and find out what the difference is between ours and n/a part. I think gm still carries the n/a cable.

What's wrong with your original cable? ;)

Well, when they replaced the tranny, they put on the cable that came with the tranny I bought...not the one I had in my car before this...

I'm assuming you can't get it adjusted enough to shift where you want it now with that cable? I still need to repair my stock cable on my black car(gotta remove the stock crimp and replace the plastic clip and then recrimp an end on the cable). I've been running a NA 3.1 cable for about a year now with no issues. The cable I got from the NA 3.1 was nearly brand new as the car it came from had a GM remanufactured tranny in it with low miles on it as well.

Well, lol, today when I tried to adjust it the button wouldn't even push in...like it'd go in, but not stay in. The car hates me. I'm sure of it. Usually when it does stay in, I pull the throttle back, get one click, then call it good. Is it better to have someone on the inside pushing down on the gas?

You have to depress the button and then adjust the cable fully in the direction opposite of how the accelerator pulls on it. Theres a plastic rack on the end of the cable that engages with that button that you will be moving.

Then release the button, and go inside the car and SLOWLY go to WOT.

If you go too fast, you will skip some teeth and overadjust the cable.

Kinda confusing but I hope that helps.

Sounds like you did what I did, broke the clip that attaches to the TB.

Ok so this is NOTHING like what I've been doing lol. I've just been pushing the button in, and pulling the throttle cable till it clicks once or twice. And then the button pops up on its own...I've been doing it wrong?? Are you supposed to keep the button from popping back up?

Couldn't you also manually down shift to the lower gear if no TV cable is present or in operable?  I remember having to do that for a while on a old 3t40 until I got around to fixing it.
