Changing buttons on AC/Heat control?

I got some new buttons for the AC/heat control, has anyone ever changed these before, I tried to separate the front plate that holds the buttons but a little worried about breaking something.

It's very very simple. Remove the radio bezel, then remove the two bolts holding the unit in on the left hand side. Unplug both plugs, plug in the new unit, and screw it down. Reinstall the bezel and you're done!

Grinders thanks, actually I am trying to change the buttons only not the whole unit, but I may end up getting a whole new unit, my on/off button is worn and cracked.
