As I'm sure most every bodies OEM turbo blanket has crumbled when taken off.  I will be in need of a turbo blanket soon and I want to know what you guys are using and how you like it.  Main concern would be, how do they fit around the Wastegate arm and such? Also where did you buy?

Anybody have any pics of installed and final outcome??

Thanks in advance!

Kyle

I just bought this...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=320263939715&rd=1

I'll let you know how it works.....basically you cut it to fit your turbo, the give instructions on how to do it.  Basically cut a hold for the wastegate arm to go in.  thats about it.  I was using header wrap but it is a pain to take on and off.....but it worked well.

Ken, that stuff works, but a lot of people say it's a pain to install.

A lot of people on clubgp run the ebay blankets like these here and have no problems with them.

BUT, they run larger turbochargers than us, so I'm not sure how great those will fit our turbochargers...

I'm wondering if the larger blanket might be better because it would be able to be a little loose over the o2 sensor and the wastagete?

Either option seem like a great option...

Guess I am lucky, I got 2 of the original blankets in OK condition. I dont like using them thou, that dust they put off is nasty stuff. But inbetween that turbo blanket, the X-over heat wrap, and the manifolds heat wrap, my underhood temps drops quite a bit...
