My tranny is slipping pretty bad right now. If I'm going say 35mph, and I want to change lanes, I'll floor it. Then the tranny slips and my car bogs pretty bad. It'll then catch again and go as normal. I probably will need a rebuild, any know how much this will cost?

Secondly, when I let the car idle, the engine will feel like it's hesitating and has a backfire or something. I'm going to try and get a tune-up this weekend. If I rev my motor a little, it'll go away for a bit, but it'll come back. It could also be the cross-over pipe, I know mine is cracked.

Every once and a while, the service engine soon light will come one, then go back off. My oil pressure is good, boost is good, tank is full, and the temp is good. This could also be part of the hesitation.

For a tranny rebuild be ready to spend $1500+. Make sure you have someone do it that knows their shit. You don't want him replacing parts with ones that are made for a n/a 3.1 tranny.

Just had my tranny rebuilt and it cost $2200!  I don't think they used the right parts because it still hesitates and jerks abit.  They said it'll take about 2 weeks to 'break in' (yeh sure), I'll drive it for about another week (taking it easy) and if it don't settle out, they are going to do it again, right this time!

I had a rebuild done at a pontiac dealership, which cost me ~$1800. That was in 2000.

I just had mine re-built at 107,000 miles.....it was doing the same thing(HESITATING AND SLIPPING).......it cost me a little under $1,000 because i have connections. If i were you i would go with a rebuild...not cheap but it is worth it!!!  GOOD LUCK!!!
