When driving my car at WOT it shifts fine from 1-2, but in the 2-3 shift it revs past what the tach states is the redline and it doesn't seem to shift, then it overboosts, so it's forced to rev down and then it shifts. What's my problem here.  Is it just overboosting or is my tranny fried.  Also, I don't have a the original tranny, so the fried part could definitely be true.

Did it always do that or just start doing it recently?  How high is your mileage?  When was the tranny fluid last changed?

Your TV cable could also be out of adjustment, but really it could be any of the things I've mentioned.

I found out what the problem was kinda.  It would shift perfect and I mean perfect in OD.  The shifts were quick and firm, but only in overdrive.  As soon as I would put it in D and floor it it would shift fine into second but would never leave second.  It would just rev over the shift point and then would overboost.  I just always left it in OD after I figured that out.

I made that post on June 7th, and my tranny blew up on Aug 29th.

Thanks for stirring up bad memories

I found a real TGP tranny in a suburb of Philadelphia and they still have it.  I have to go pick that up one of these days 8)
