Ok so a couple months ago I had some problems with my tranny. I will cut and paste original post from w-body.com...

http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/74180-TGP-wouldn-t-move-UPDATE

"So I just got back from takin the TGP out for a ride, probably 30 miles or so I put on. I get to a stop sign on my way home and as I stopped, it felt a little weird. It was almost as if something locked up as I was stopping, the car kinda jolted when it stopped. I let the car in the other lane go, took my foot off the break, hit the gas and nothing. It just revved. So I tried a couple times, moved the gear selecter to park then drive, tried reverse, and nothing at all, just revved. It was weird though, because I was on an incline, but the car didn't roll backwards until I popped it in neutral to try to roll onto shoulder. I shut it off, checked tranny fluid, it looked good, a little burnt in color, but I've seen worse. After a few min, I turned it on and still nothing, then I gave it a little more gas and it's like something caught and I moved. It made the last 3-4 miles home without a problem. What the heck happened?? "
Yesterday I replaced vacuum modulator and...

"Ok, so I changed the vacuum modulator today after reading some posts on tgpforums about a very similar problem to mine and it's better and worse at the same time. It shifts much better but anything over half throttle and I get a shutter like it's misfiring. But when I am in park and revving the engine it revs just fine so I don't think it's a misfire issue, plus I have never had that hapen before either."

I used MD28 and it came with a couple extra little parts that I didn't use because it didn't look right with the extension and ring it came with. It didn't look right so I didn't use them. "

Was I supposed to use one of these extra parts? I didn't because I made it look like the one I took out. The internal valve looked fine so I replaced that as I took it out.

Also the tranny fluid LEVEL is fine, where it is supposed to be. It is a little burnt but not black, it's just a darker color than it should be and smells a little burnt.

I am at a loss here. I don't know a whole hell of a lot about transmissions but would like to be able to fix this myself, I just need to know where to look. I don't have the money to fix that tranny now or build up my 282 to handle the power so I need to get this to last me through the year. Plus if I am going to go through the trouble of removing the tranny I am just going to pull the whole engine and tranny and do some much wanted upgrades along with changing all the gaskets and shit, basically I plan to do an overhaul if it comes to that point.

It's not my DD by any means, I have only put 16k miles in the 5 years I've had the car but I like to be able to drive it when I want.

Turns out the plugs were shot, changed em out with R42LTS and gapped em to .28 as recommended by adam(flybynite) and the car works great now! There's a little less rubber on my tires now...  :icon_twisted:

And a littte good and bad news. I finally found what has been leaking, the bad news, it's the radiator.. I have a spare though that I am going to get pressure tested and if good, will put that in.

FYI - you can get your radiator re cored with the latest radiator design for around $300.  Cheap insurance IMHO.  I had one of mine re cored and the temps droped 20 degrees.
2004 GTP -  3.8 Blown - Only modding for MPG.
1997 GTP  - 3.8 Blown - Too many mods to list.
1996 GTP - 3.4 DOHC - Twin to my 1997.
1995 SE - soon to be a 3.8 turbo car.
1990 TSTE x 2 white cloth
1990 TSTE x 1 maroon leather
1990 TGP - 5 speed.

I plan to eventually, I just don't have that kinda money right now. I'm just hoping my spare doesn't leak too. It seems in good shape.
