How much boost can this car handle and how much does it actually get stock?

What is the max boost pressure in PSI that the stock engine/turbo gets from a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix McLaren Turbo?

How much boost have you been able to apply to the engine and it still works?

How much boost do you think the engine can safely handle? Even under dragway pulls?

I am curious as I have upgraded the turbo and plan to have the car tuned, the turbo I have can easily push the engine to 350 hp, but I do not want to accidentally damage anything.

I know there is a limit to the boost because the fuel injectors would need an upgrade at some point.

Thoughts?

Edit:

I am thinking of running around 10-15 PSI on a dyno tune.
I want to get some good power from the engine but in the same time, I don't want to go overboard on the stock engine.

Stock TGP automatic? The auto that the TGP got was different than the standard auto trans. Just an FYI in case it may have been replaced at some point.

Your trans will give out before the bottom end of the motor does. I don't know boost numbers for the motor, but I believe the max for a stock TGP auto is somewhere around 300hp.

I'm not sure you are going to be pushing 300hp at the lower end of your target boost range though if everything is stock except for the turbo.

I have an aftermarket inter cooler setup and it will be tuned.
Still the same transmission, shifts strong still. This thing has been maintained.

So you are thinking somewhere around 300 hp? Thats fine with me.
I'm not looking to go crazy, but I would like to get what I can (within reason) from this engine.
I know I am limited by the injector size.

This car is rusted bad though, so I am planning to use the engine in another car, lighter by about 1,000 lbs after the TGP rusts out completely.

I can say I wouldn't go more than 10-12 psi and a hot tune and some minor bolt ons. should be good for around 240ish-250 to the tire. The trans may be hurting at that point though.
