13" Front brakes???

Id like to put 12 or 13 inch brakes on my car in the front.  I have 17 inch wheels and i think bigger brakes would look and work better.  My question is id like to get the componets off of other cars and make my own kit.  I know that a 12 inch rotor off a 98 town car will go on our cars but the offset is too great.  I wonder if i could get calipers off of a vette and rotor off a cobra or something.  I was just wondering if anybody has ever thought about this before?

Yeah, I have. The problem I kept running into was most rotors will hit th strut body. I haven't found a bigger one that doesn't thats not super expensive (i'm not sure a super expesive one won't either)
