trans is completely shot. :( help! :(

Hey guys...

The trans in my car has had no third gear for about a month now.  I just used first and second gear, and never really took it over 35 mph.  I could take second gear all the way up to 55-60, then push the lever up into OD, and it would slip into third, and catch in the next gear, and go OK.  Doing that allowed me to get my TGP back into my hometown.  Well... Sunday morning rolls around, and I hop in my TGP thinking I'm driving it back to my place at school...

Now the car wont catch after it catches 2nd  :(  No OD now.  :(  So the car had to be drivin back to the house, and backed into the garage for the time being.

I've got my mothers sebring for the better part of a month, but at July 26th, she needs it back.  I need to get a trans before then or I'm in some trouble.  :(

Anybody have a trans that works, that is laying around that they'd like to donate?!  :(  I've got hardly any money right now thanks to some recent health problems (diabetes-related), and I need a car bad.  :(  Anybody got a trans that works that wants a trans that doesnt work?  Heh... or anybody have one that they can get rid of REALLY cheap?!  :(  God... I owe 3 people money right now, and I'm in no position to pay for a new trans.  :(

Can anybody help?  I've got the adjustable vac. modulator installed and cranked all the way in.  The shifts used to be VERY harsh, but my trans is definately toast now.

Anything anybody can do to help ?

Hey Zach,

If you don't find any joy with you tranny prob before July 26, swing on by my place. I have an 89 Cutlass Supreme (yes the huge F-body type) that I could loan you. It needs shocks and has a short in the brake light circuit somewhere but it has a 307 cid engine and it runs good on regular. (If you wanna know - it is the car I drive winters after I put up the TGP in the fall)

LMK and it's yours to use until the first snow.

Thanks for the extremely generous gesture.  :)  Although I think I have some good news...

My mom just called me up here at work, and left me a voicemail that said 'Zach... dont worry about your transmission.  I made a few phone calls, and I think I've gotten it taken care of. I'll talk to you wednesday night when you get home'

Not quite sure what that means, but I had the VIN, engine size and that it was a turbo, it was an automatic, all written down on the kitchen counter when I left.  I guess I'll find out what she means when I get home at midnight on wednesday.  :)

Hey Chuck... what are you doing for the 4th?  You're pretty close to where they fire off the fireworks arent you?  If you're gonna be around, I'd like to stop by and check out the car, and shoot the shit.  :)  Lemme know.  :)  My TGP probably wont be back up, but I've got the Sebring for a few more weeks.

ps... my bro saw you at Dave's a few weekends ago.  He saw the TGP sitting out front, and he tried to grab your order, but he said before he knew it the car was already gone.  :D  haha

Hey cool, I hope that your Mom has good news. Moms have a way of fixing stuff like that hehe :)
As for my plans for the 4th, I am going to be around so feel free to come on by. This is the first year that I am not on the 4th of July committee, so I get to hang out and relax instaed of running my tail off putting on street dances, parades and fireworks displays (although it always was fun to rip around town on a 4-wheel atv for a week or so - illegal unless you are 4th staff :)) Since I live only a block from the field where they shoot off the show, I will just have some lawn chairs in the yard, frosty beverages, etc etc =)
