Should I sell My STE turbo? or Keep it?

I know I could get about 2000-2500 for it.

The reason why is there is this 91 3.4L 5spd STE for sale.
and I do have the money for the 91Ste how ever Thats all the money I will have Left after Paying off taxes on my house & paying back other bills too. and I was hopping to get new carpet and paint for my house how ever if I dont sell my STE turbo I will not be able to do those things.

so what shall I do I can find another STE turbo any time but how often will I see a 3.4 5spd when I have the money?

what do you guys/gals think?

should I sell My STE turbo and get a 3.45spd or should I just keep my STE turbo?

Sell it to me for CHEAP :twocents:  In all seriousness, I'd say do whatever you have to do, and if you rather have a  STE DOHC/5speed go for it.

Tough one.  Short answer, I'd say keep the turbo.

Sure the DOHC 5 speeds are rare, and pretty fast, but the I'd say the turbo can be faster.  And mod wise, the TSTE has much mroe poetntial (like any turbo car).  But take into account finding parts for the 5 speed (if you ever need them) can be difficult.  Just my opinion.

It's basically the same car, except for the drivetrain.  Autos are much nicer to drive, but 5 speeds are more fun.  Depending on the clutch, the auto will be way easier to race/launch than the 5 speed.

Don't forget, that car should get a timing belt and other various tune-up stuff to make it a reliable driver.  I guessing it'll need about $300-$400 to make it a reliable daily driver.  And that's if you do the belt yourself.

Debt sucks too, man.

But ultimately, it's your choice.  Ket us know your decision!

Well I have desided to Keep the STE turbo,
I am thinking of going to the Junk Yard and Picking up that 88GP 5spd tranny and anything I would need to do a swap,
I can get everything CHEAP.

I wish I knew someone Rather Close to MN that could rebuild it Cheap for me. Doesnt need a Rebuild but I would like to have it Rebuilt if Im going to do a swap I dont want to be riping it apart again for a rebuild in a year.

because I am PLaying with the Idea of a swap in the ol' ste.

Wonder if you could rebuild it with parts from the turbo tranny..are any parts compatable?  Sorry I don't know too much about transmissions.
