no power

I need help. If any1 knows whats wrong help. My car actrs fine in park but when i put it in drive it starts shaking a little. It can only accelerate very slowly and if i make it up to 55mph thats the fastest i cna go or the whole car starts shaking. If i give it more than just a touch of gas to try to accelerate faster the whole car starts shaking and it wont pick up speed.

You should check to see if the catalytic converter is plugged.  Mine did the same thing a couple Thanksgivings ago.. couldn't even get it to go uphill when it got hot.  Something to check out I guess.
